While playing your way through Half Life 2 : Episode 2, did you ever get the feeling that you were being watched? That someone was following your every move?
Well, they were. Every step of your journey through the game was being tracked and updating Valve's set of in-game statistics.
Now you can go online and compare your game performance with that of all the other players. You can compare total elapsed game time with the average (about 6 hours), or see how you compared with the list of achievements. Surprisingly, over 5000 people managed to get the now infamous gnome into space!
There are even incredibly detailed death maps showing where players died on each map of the game, allowing you to easily identify the the most dangerous hotspots.
Clever stuff from Valve, even if it does seem a little bit 'Big Brother' knowing that they're analysing our every (in-game) move. To view the statistics, follow the links:
